Bain Auction

Welcome to the charity auction of works by Audrey and Alan Bain. The auction features original paintings, drawings and sketches by the artists who generously donated them for sale to benefit the future arts centre in Cornwall, Cornwall Hospice and Baldwin House, Cornwall, equally.

The auction of the Bain Collection commences at 8 am on September 28, 2020 and ends at 8 pm on October 15, 2020. Pickup is on October 17, 2020, from noon till 4 pm at 159 Pitt Street.

The future arts centre, Baldwin House and Hospice Cornwall are grateful to Julia Lucio of Versacore Tech Designs for designing and administering the online auction, on a pro bono basis.

The auction is online only. We thank you for your patronage and support.

As advertised, this auction started on April 9 at 8 a.m. However, given the legislated 4-week provincial shutdown, the closing date for this auction has been moved to Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. Pickup will take place curbside on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the third floor, at the Upper Level entrance to the Cornwall Square Mall in the parking garage. The auction has a dedicated booth there for this purpose.

Starting bid & Bid Increments

Starting bids for unframed works is $25.00 and $50.00 for framed pieces.

Successive bids must be in increments of $5.00.

Terms & Conditions

Once you have registered to bid, your password, along with your email address will allow you to log into our auction and bid.

The name with which you register will be used on the invoice generated by your purchase. It will be emailed to you within hours of the auction close. Please bring it with you when you pickup your purchase. All items purchased by the buyer are the responsibility of the buyer and must be removed by the buyer. All items purchased must be removed by the date and time stated by the Auctioneer.

If for any reason, Buyer fails to remove any purchase within the stated timelines as stated by the Auctioneer, The Auctioneer may deem the item to be abandoned by the Buyer, at its sole discretion. The item will be resold at the next auction

Payment

All Purchases and billing are in CAD.

Full payment is due upon pickup. All sales are final.

Payment may be made by credit card or e-transfer. We appreciate this taking place at point of purchase, prior to pickup.

All proceeds from the auction will be deposited in the Art Trust Fund account at the City of Cornwall, and will be used solely for the refurbishment of the property at 159 Pitt Street, Cornwall.

Pickup & Shipping

We are situated in Cornwall Square and pickup will occur there from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We have a curbside pick-up area on the upper level just inside the upper level entrance from the parking garage level 3. The successful bidders can park on Level 3 of the parking garage, crossover into the mall using the bridge and once they have entered into the mall our Upper Level Curbside Pick-up Area is right there. We will be at Booth #4 which is the one on the extreme right side as one enters the mall. The booth will be clearly labeled.

Masks are mandatory at this exchange point, as they are throughout the Cornwall Square.

Shipping is generally not available. If an exception is needed, please contact us at 613 933 8353. We will charge a flat fee of $40.00 for shipping, to be paid in advance.
